160TH ANNIVERSARY ACTIVITIES

History Quiz: Each week from now until the 160th Anniversary Service in September at Knox there will be a weekly question asked of congregants who will be required to fill in a ballot with their answer and subsequently placed in a ballot box. A gift basket will be awarded at the Anniversary Service to the person with the most correct answers over the course of the weekly quiz.

The Quiz Question for May 8th: “How many Baptisms have been done in the last 160 years?” Answer – 517.

*As a tribute to the children who have been baptised at Knox Burgoyne a colorful baptism chain was created by Lois Fotherby for the 150th anniversary of the church and Coleen Fenton has added to it with baptisms over the course of the ensuing 10 years. The above photo, taken during a recent worship service, shows the chain with 517 names, completely surrounding the interior of the sanctuary. This was the particular Sunday when the quiz question was asked about the total number of baptisms at Knox since inception 160 years ago.

Turkey Take-Outs Popular:
148 dinner orders were received for the Turkey Dinner Take-Out at Knox on Saturday, April 30.

If she did say so herself, "the food was great," commented Clerk of Session Willa Faust in thanking Mike McIntosh and Brian Campbell who prepared it!"

Search Committee Report: On behalf of the Search Committee, I wish to report to you that we have been very busy, firstly preparing our profile, and secondly since our profile was distributed. We have had many candidates to consider and have begun our interview process via Zoom. Interviews were scheduled until May 12th.

We are blessed to have many suitable possibilities for our two charges. Please continue to pray for God’s guidance as we seek the one whom He is calling to Saugeen Shores to guide our Knox and Tolmie
congregations.
~~ Respectfully submitted by Sheila Busch, Search Committee chairperson.

Prayer Flag Project: The goal for this project is to have everyone in the congregation (young and old) join together in making prayer flags as a living, breathing, kinetic journal of our hopes, dreams, and concerns. Completed flags will be hung outside for our wishes and prayers to be carried by the wind and be shared with others. Please see Heather G. to get your blank flag to take home to create; or you are welcome to stay after church anytime to work on it here.
